Membership Details

The society of Independent Roundabout Proprietors is open to professional and semi-professional showmen, who operate good quality equipment.

The list of qualifying items includes rides and games which are pre-war, wooden framed, steam driven, or hand-turned. Early electric driven items also qualify.

Owners of travelling or static arcades which feature solely vintage slot machines may also apply for membership.

Owners of equipment which has been altered from the original form and modern reconstructions will be considered for Associate Membership.

Associate Membership is also open to slot machine dealers, fairground dealers and showman’s decorators.

The 2009/10 full annual membership fee, payable at the November meeting, is £30.00, which includes £5.00 contribution to the Legal Fund.

New members are considered at each meeting by a vote of the current members.

The Society does not operate through a committee. At all meetings members have one vote.

It is a condition of membership that all equipment has an ADIPS (Amusement Device Inspection Procedures Scheme) test.
Proof of this and Public Liability insurance must be sent to the secretary within two Month's from the renewal dates.

We do not accept applications from members of other trade associations representing travelling / fairground amusement industry.
